In the late 1800’s, the Columbia River fish canning industry was one of the most valuable in the world This program, presented by Julie Triezenberg of the Columbia River Maritime Museum, discusses the history of the canneries, their impact on local communities, and the legacy they left behind after their closure. Wednesday, September 17, 2025, 7 PM at the Scappoose Public Library.

Columbia County is participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.  Kids 0-5 years old can be signed-up to receive a FREE book every month in the mail.   The program is designed to encourage a love of reading from an early age.
