History of Scappoose

"The History of Scappoose, Oregon Between the Years 1852–1930" was mostly written by James Loring Watts (1905-1981) and finished and compiled by the Grant Watts Parent Organization in 1984.

This document is a product of both its time and its topic. As such it depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices held by the people who created it, and the people who feature in it. We provide this document for historical purposes, as a piece of Scappoose history itself. It should not be used for current reference. The Scappoose Public Library does not agree, endorse, or condone the views and opinions expressed in this work.
