The Scappoose Public Library is OPEN by appointment. Monday- Friday 10 am- 6 pm Saturday 10 am- 3 pm. To make an appointment please visit our website or call 503-543-7123. Curbside pick up is also available.

Scappoose Public Library Presents: The Great Pumpkin Walk.  Everyone is invited to decorate a pumpkin for our first annual "Great Pumpkin Walk"!  Step 1: Find your own pumpkin or register before Wed, October 21st to pick one up at the library.  Step 2: Decorate your pumpkin (scary, silly, based on a book?)  Step 3: Bring your pumpkin to the library by 6 pm Wednesday October 28th.  Step 4: Come see all the pumpkins on our Pumpkin Walk between October 29th-31st.  Step 5: Each visitor gets one vote for their favorite pumpkin. The winning pumpkin designers will win a gift card to a local business!

Scappoose Public Library will be offering curbside pickup of library materials during our open hours. Patrons may submit requests for any circulating material through the online catalog or telephone. Limits on requests are 25 per person.

Scappoose During COVID-19. The Scappoose Public Library is asking for your help to document life in Scappoose during the Covid-19 pandemic. The library is collecting photos from community members to compile into a book that will become a part of our collection.  From staying safe at home, to contributing as an essential worker, to encountering empty shelves when shopping, we are looking for images that portray a variety of moments unique to this time. Submit photos that capture our community or your personal experience. Please email photos to

Comcast is offering free hotspots to everyone (not just subscribers) and unlimited data for current subscribers for the duration of the COVID outbreak. Also the library WIFI is available 24/7 during the outbreak. Password is librarywireless. Click on the image above for information about the free wifi from Comcast.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Columbia County is participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.  Kids 0-5 years old can be signed-up to receive a FREE book every month in the mail.   The program is designed to encourage a love of reading from an early age.
