SPLAF 2026

The second annual SPLAF!—The Scappoose Public Library Authors Festival—is happening on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10 am until 3 pm at the Scappoose Public Library’s meeting room. All day, local authors will read from their works, talk about their writing lives, and sell (and sign) their books for attendees.

The Scappoose Public Library will be buzzing on all three floors on October 10th , as two events promise to bring “novel” excitement to the community.

The second Scappoose Public Library Authors Festival (SPLAF 2026) will feature “A Writer’s Dozen” with thirteen local authors in a variety of genres. That same day, the FOSPL—Friends of the Scappoose Public Library—is holding their October “Spooktacular” used book sale in the library basement from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

At SPLAF, three sets of author readings will be held on the second floor. Beginning at 11 am, five children’s authors will read from their books. At noon, four “new to SPLAF” authors will read; then at 1 pm, another four veteran local authors will present. Each author will have approximately ten minutes “on stage” to talk about their writing journey and read from their works. Between readings, attendees are encouraged to meet and greet with the authors, ask questions (and perhaps purchase a signed copy?) in the library’s meeting room on the first floor.
