Who We Are

The Scappoose Public Library provides free services to all residents living within the boundaries of the Scappoose Public Library District. The Library District includes all of the City of Scappoose and some nearby areas, with a total population of over 12,000.  

Library services are available to those living outside the district for a fee.

Books, magazines, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs are available to check-out. In addition, there are 10 computers available for Internet use. All include Microsoft Office Suite.

Free Wi-Fi access to the Internet is also available. Special electronic reference services are available in the library and through the library website for anyone with a current Scappoose Public Library card. These resources include hundreds of full-text magazine articles, test preparation materials, and genealogical databases.

Scappoose Public Library holds weekly storytimes for children and special programs for children and teens throughout the year. 

Our meeting room is available for public use for a fee.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Columbia County is participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.  Kids 0-5 years old can be signed-up to receive a FREE book every month in the mail.   The program is designed to encourage a love of reading from an early age.
